I haven't done a model shoot in a while that wasn't strictly for a school assignment so it was nice to shoot again not having to follow any particular guidelines. Katrina, the model, is beyond gorgeous and I worked with her a few months ago as a model for my spring semester portfolio. Katrina has that natural model flare to her and it's perfect since she's wanting to pursue a career in modeling. I love being able to help an aspiring model build their portfolio by trying different styles, themes and ideas for their pictures. For this one Katrina told me she wanted it to be edgy, fun and bold and I think we nailed it! It was shot entirely indoors, using my portable studio that comes with a backdrop stand, backdrop material, two softboxes, stands and a boom light. I used 120 watt bulbs in the softboxes, using those lights to illuminate Katrina and two off camera flashes to light the backdrop and bounce off the ceiling. I can't wait to do more shoots with Katrina and try new ideas!
